The grand opening of the areas newest community
- Grayson Park - was celebrated in high style.
On Saturday April 28th the Mayors of both Wilmington
and Leland joined Stevens Building Company in an official
ribbon cutting ceremony to help celebrate the Grand
Opening of Grayson Park. With an extra large pair
of scissors in hand, Leland Mayor Walter Futch had
the honors of officially cutting the ribbon. During
the ceremony Stevens Building Company and Hanover
Realty each donated $5000.00 to the Leland D.A.R.E.
program and $5000.000 to the Communities In Schools
program, organizations that both companies feel strongly
about. "We want to help both of these programs
continue their great work. We will be donating $50
for every home sold in Grayson Park to these two programs".
Members of the Leland Police Department and Leland
D.A.R.E. program as well as members of the Communities
In Schools program were on hand to receive the donations.
Following the ceremony the visitors toured the decorated
model home and Parade of Home entry. Lunch was catered
by a locals favorite, Jackson BBQ Restaurant.
